Express x in terms of y , given that 3 x + 4 y = 6. Check whether the point (3,2) is on the given line.
To xpress x in terms of y, take all the terms having y and constants on RHS as given below:
3x+ 4y = 6
3x = 6- 4y
x = (6- 4y) / 3
This is the answer...
Now to check whether the point ( 3,2 ) is on the given line, just substitute x=3 and y=2 in LHS in the equation:
= 3x+ 4y
= 3*3 + 4*2
But it is not equal to RHS (i.e. 6). Therefore this point do not satisfy the given equation...
Hope it helps.. Gud luck... :))))
