Let the radius and slant height of the conical tent be r and l respectively.

Given, Diameter of the conical tent = 12 m

∴ Radius of the conical tent,

Slant height of the conical tent, l = 6.3 m

Curved surface area of the conical tent

Let the length of the canvas required to make the tent be x m.

Width of the canvas = 2 m  (Given)

Area of the canvas required to make the tent = Length of the canvas ×Width of the canvas = x m × 2 m = 2x m2

∴ 2x m2 = 118.8 m2

Length of the canvas required to make the tent is 59.4 m.

Given, Cost of the canvas = Rs 25/m 

Cost of the canvas required to make the tent = Rs 25/m × 59.4 m = Rs 1485

Thus, the cost of the canvas required to make the tent is Rs 1485.
