For the NCERT exercise question  " 1(b) In an ecosystem dominated by trees, the pyramid of numbers is ___ type " could u explain how the answer can be "inverted" as is told in the solution given here....???  shouldnt it be "upright" ?

Dear Student!

In an ecosystem, dominated by trees, each tree harbours a large number of birds which in turn harbour a large number of parasites. So the number of organisms is increasing at each higher trophic level which gives the pyramid of numbers an inverted shape.
