Four married couples have gathered in a room. Two persons are selected at random form amongst them. Find the probability that the selected persons are:
a) a husband and his wife
b) a gentleman and a lady but not a couple

(a) no. of ways of selecting husband and wife = 4 and total no of ways of selecting 2 persons = 8C2 = 28
PROBABILITY = 4/28 = 1/7
(b) not a couple = (28-4)/28 = 24/28 = 6/7
