From this portion which one -ATRIA OR VENTRICLES HAVE VALVES ?
Dear student,
The valves are present between atrium and ventricles of heart to prevent the backflow of blood from ventricles to auricles at the time of contraction of ventricles. The valves present between right atrium and right ventricle is tricuspid valve. The valve present between left atrium and left ventricle is bicuspid or mitral valve.
Apart from this, valves are also present at the end of the ventricles to prevent the backflow of blood from the pulmonary artery and aorta back to the ventricles. The valve present at the end of the ventricles which open into pulmonary artery and aorta is semilunar valve.
Regards
