Velocity can be all three- positive, negative and zero
• An object with zero velocity is an object at rest
• An object with positive velocity is an object moving
forward
• An object with negative velocity is an object moving
backwards
Depending on what you are defining "forward" and "backwards"
as
For example:
Driving a car forward would be positive velocity Driving in reverse
would be negative velocity
