Give reasons as to why colloids are considered as heterogeneous mixtures ?

A colloidal solution is a heterogeneous mixture in which the size of the solute particles is greater than the solute particles of the solution, but lesser than the solute particles of the suspension. The colloid is not a homogeneous solution like a true solution as, the dispersed phase and the dispersion medium in a colloid can be separated by a physical method like centrifugation, which is not possible in true solutions. In fact, colloid is an intermediate phase between a true solution and suspensions, so in some cases a colloid resembles a true solution and in some cases it resembles suspension.

a colloid is considered as heterogeneous mixtures because the size of particles of a colloid is too small to be seen individually seen by naked eyes.also a colloid is heterogenous, since it has a disperse phase (eg. solid particles) that is distributed across a disperse medium (eg. a solvent)
