Now, we know that distance between points x1,y1 and x2,y2 is D = x2-x12 + y2-y12Now AB = 10 units⇒x+22 + 9-32 = 10⇒x+22 + 36 = 100⇒x+22 = 64⇒x+2 = ±8⇒x+2 = 8   or  x+2 = -8⇒x = 6   or  x = -10Hence abscissa of point B is either 6 or -10
