Gujarat and Arunachal Pradesh lag 2 hours . Then why does watch show the same time ?

Dear Student,

From Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh there is a delay of two hours, however the watches show a similar time in light of the fact that the time along the Standard Meridian of India (82° 30' E) going through Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh is set aside as the standard effort for the entire country.

There is a delay of two hours between Arunachal Pradesh and Gujarat. The meridian 82 degrees 30 minutes East going through Mirzapur (in Uttar Pradesh) has been taken as the norm to set a uniform time for India. The nearby time at this meridian is set aside as the standard effort for the entire country. There is delay of 2 hours among Gujarat and Arunachal Pradesh, not Andhra Pradesh. Since Arunachal Pradesh lies on the easternmost tip of the country and Gujarat lies on the westernmost tip and both the states are isolated by a distance of more than 3300 kilometers.

Regards.
