Here example 6.1 pls explain i that if we put a soft iron then inductance will increase. But how will this help in showing large reflections in galvanometer?

When the soft iron rod is inserted in a coil C2 then the coil will act as solenoid and the the magnetic field will also increase .Now when the magnetic field increases then the flux through the coil C1 also increases generally the current through the coil C1 increases and thus here the deflections the galvanometer increases .
