What are the major functions of the parliament?

Some Major Functions of the parliament are as follows :

1. Legislative Functions :  Legislative functions of Parliament includes making laws on all subjects listed in the Union list and the Concurrent list. In case any conflicts occurs in Union and State enactment , then Union laws will prevail.
2. Executive Functions : The Parliament exercises control over the executive by several measures like by a vote of no-confidence, the parliament can remove an executive in power, reject a budget proposal or any bill by the cabinet.
3. Financial Function : The ultimate authority when it comes to financial matters is the Parliament. Any executive cant spend a single penny without the approval of the parliament. The union budget and all proposals to impose taxes must be approved by the parliament.
4. Electoral Functions : Parliament plays a crucial role in the elections of President and Vice President.
5.Judicial Functions : parliament has the power to punish the members of the house who breach the laws/order . Parliament can also impeach  the President, the Vice President, the judges of the Supreme Court, High Courts, Auditor-General, etc.
