How can biodegradable fertilizers and pesticides help in conserving water????
Biodegradable fertilisers and pesticides contains thatch in it. Thatch consists of straw, reeds, palm leaves, dead stem and root tissue and also are rich in organic matter which trap and prevents leaching or loss of runoff water. Thus they serve as a means of conservation of water. They contribute to the water table by not causing water pollution. Chemical fertilisers deplete the water table.
