how can we locate pole star with the help of ursa major

ANS: The pole star can be located using the ursa major(big dipper) constellation, by imagining a line connecting the two stars at the front of the "dipper", continue it on the side where the dipper is "open" to a distance 5 times that between the two stars, and you will arrive at (or very close to) the pole star. Because of their role in locating Polaris, these two stars are often called "the guides."

imagine a straight line passing through the 2 end stars of the bowl of the ursa major to 5 times the length between them and it wil point u towards a star which is not too bright known as the pole star(dhruv).

Hope it helps!!
