How can we say that right to equality and right to freedom are the two sides of a coin?

Right to equality and freedom are referred to as the two sides of a coin because one cannot achieve equality without freedom. When citizens are granted right to equality then automatically the question of granting right to freedom arises. Providing equality of religion, languages, caste, community, gender is meaningless when right to  freedom is not provided. The people cannot exercise their right to equality in the absence of freedom.
