HOW CN V PROOVE THAT ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES ARE transverse in nature?

i think longitudinal waves need medium with particles for its propagation

ex sound waves

but electromagnetic waves can travel through vacuum (without particles) as light spectrum

this is one of the reason for its transverse nature but not complete

since much more examples are needed with properties of elec.waves to prove it
