How did the writer know about Shahid before meeting him?
Please answer this question in reference to the chapter "The Ghat Of The Only World "

Please provide the answer to the given question urgently.

Dear student,

The writer knew Shahid’s work long before he met him. His 1997 collection, The Country Without a Post Office, made a powerful impression on the writer. His voice was like none he had heard before, at once lyrical and fiercely disciplined, engaged and yet deeply inward. The writer found Shahid's verses rather powerful and unique. Before meeting Shahid, all he knew about him was that he was from Srinagar and had studied in Delhi. They had friends in common, however, and one of them put me him touch with Shahid. But, they were little more than acquaintances for a long time.

Regards
