how does the farmer selects good seeds for sowing?
Sowing: It is the process of putting seeds into the soil for germination of seeds.
Experiment:
Take a container filled with water. Put seeds in it. Shake the container and leave it aside for sometime. You will observe that some seeds float on the surface of the water while others settle at the bottom. The seeds which float on the surface of the water are either spoilt or eaten by insects which create holes in the seeds and allow them to float on the surface of the water. While the healthy seeds are heavy. Hence, they sink at the bottom of the container. In this way, healthy seeds are selected by farmers for sowing.
