How does the resistance of a wire vary with its area of cross section?

Resistance is inversely proportional to area of cross section. larger will be the area lower will be the resistance and vice versa.

this is because through a conductor with large area of cross section current can easily flow and hence resistance is low.

because length is inversely proportion to resistance

the resistance of wire depends on following

1.area of crass section, which is indirectly proportional

2.Length of wire ,which is directly proportional

3. nature of material.

4.Temperature

Cross sectional area is inversely proportional to resistance.

As the cross sectional area increases the resistance decreases.
