How many alpha particles are there in length of 20cm of a beam?
Dear Student ,
If n number of alpha particles crossing an area of cross section in unit time then , the current caused by the beam of alpha particle is , I = nq , where q is the charge of the alpha particle .
Therefore we can write that ,
n = I /q
Thus this formula came .
Hope this helps you .
