How many free surfaces do solids, liquids and gases have and why?

A solid consist of very  rigid  and layered structure which allows solid to have number of free surfaces. Since solid consist of infinite number of  atom and layers in particular arrangement  therefore it contain infinite number of free surface.

Liquid contain only one free surface because force of attraction is less between the atom which do not allow it have more than one free surface. For example liquid occupy the shape of container in which it is poured.

Gases do not have free surface due to very less force of attraction between the molecules and the disperse nature of gas molecules do not allow the gases to have free surface.
For example- The gas molecules are equally distributed within the balloon without the formation of surface.

It is uncountable the forse between attraction is more in gas than that of this two gases
