how many molecules are present in 8g of oxygen gas??

Molar mass of oxygen is 16 g

Molecular mass of O2 = (16 +16) g per mole.

⇒ Molecular mass of O2 = 32 g per mole.

Which means mass 1 mole of di oxygen is equal to 32 g

As 1 mole contains 6.022 × 1023 particles.

Therefore, 32 g contains → 6.022 × 1023 molecules of di oxygen.

1 g contains → 6.022 × 1023 / 32 molecules of di oxygen.

⇒ 1 g contains → 0.188 × 1023  molecules of di oxygen.

∴ 8 g contains → 0.188 × 8 × 1023  molecules of di oxygen.

Hence 8 g of oxygen gas contain 1.505 × 1023  molecules

1.055 x 1023 molecules

  • 0

8g of oxygen gas has fixed number of molecules i.e. 6.023*10^23molecules

  • 4

8g of oxygen has 1.505x1023 molecules

  • 1

1.5053 x 10^23 molecules

  • 1

1 mole=6.022*1023  molecules =32g = 22.4l

so,16g contain 6.022* 1023 molecules

sono of molecules in 8g of of oxygen gas=  6.022 * 1023 /32 *8

                                                              =1.505 * 1023 molecules.

As we know  that we can convert molar mass into no of moles present in that element

i.e. No of molecules = molar mass*mass in grams

  molar mass of 0xygen= (12.011+2*16)

                    44.011u

                                  and mass in grams =8gms

                                      hence no. of molecules=8(44.011)

  =   352.088  no. of molecules

hey riya 32g is the gram molecular mass of an oxygen molecule

ie gram molecular mass of 1 O2 molecule =gram molecular mass of 1 oxygen atom * 2(because oxygen is a diatomic molecule.)

                                                                              =16 g * 2

                                                                             =32 g

Good question . I think the doubt is clear for you now

thank u

Hi:)

weknow that,

moles=mass/molar mass or molecules/avegadros no

but we are not give moles we have the mass So,

moles=8/32=0.25moles

moles =0.25

now applying formula

moles=molecules/avag. no

0.25=molecules/6.023*1023

0.25*6.023*1023=molecules

1.53*1023=molecules of o2 gas

according to mole concept,

1 mole of oxygen=6.022*1023 molecules =32g = 22.4l

           where 32g is the gram molecular mass of an oxygen molecule

           ie gram molecular mass of 1 Omolecule =gram molecular mass of 1 oxygen atom * 2(because                     oxygen is a diatomic molecule.)

            =16 g * 2

             =32 g

 so,16g contain 6.022* 1023 molecules

so number of molecules in 8g of of oxygen gas= 6.022 * 1023 /32 *8

=1.505 * 1023 molecules.

1.505 * 1023 molecules.
