how will a fine beam of electrons streaming in west to east direction be attracted by a magnetic field directed vertically upwards?Explain with the help of a diagram mentioning the rule applied.

Dear Student

The direction of current is opposite to the direction of electron flow. Apply Flemings left hand rule

The electron will experience a force that acts into the plane.

By applying Fleming's left hand rule where the thumb, index and middle finger are kept perpendicular to each other and indicate direction of force, direction of magnetic field and direction of current respectively, we can understand that the beam will be deflected north.

Note: Since electron beam flows from W to E, conventional current flows from E to W
