How would you decide whether to use map or globe?
Dear Student,
a. Both maps an globe have their set of advantages and disadvantages.
b. While maps provide detailed information and provide topographical data in much more detail , Globes gives you a more accurate information of the sizes of land, water bodies , continents .
c. What one decides to use depends on the information and data one is looking into.
d. It also depends as to who is using it, as maps are more student friendly.
e. Maps are easier to prepare, and can be modified as physical or political situations change (road maps, for example).
f. Maps can give information related to everything be it physical features of Earth, boundaries of countries, cities, towns ,even distribution of rainfall, industries can easily be marked and learnt. They are student friendly and are easy to handle and prepare.
g. The nature of work, nature of information sought determines what one would want to use.
