i a two digit number the digit at the units place is double the digit in the tes place . the number exceeds the sum of its digits by 18 find the number
Let digit at tens place = x
and digit at unit place = 2x
therefore,
original number = 10(x) + 2x = 12x
Now, when digits are interchanged, then
the number = 10(2x) + x = 21x
therefore,
acc. to the question,
⇒21x - 12x = 18
⇒9x = 18
⇒x = 2
Hence, Original number = 10(2) + 2(2) = 20+4=24
