If a body has achieved its highest speed and travelling in Straight line.Then why the acceleration becomes zero?

Dear student, According to your example, the object has achieved it's highest speed and it won't change further. And we know that acceleration is rate of change of velocity. So, here if there is no change in speed of the object it's acceleration will become zero. Hope it helps you. Regards
