newton's third law of motion states that every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
in this case , when the man jumps out of the boat, it exerts force on the boat. this is the action.
as a reaction, the boat exerts an equal force on the man. thus, the boat moves backward and we are able to move forward.

newton 's third law of motion states that every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
so, when a man jumps out of a boat, he exerts a force backward on the boat to get an equal force on himslef so that he can jump out.
so the boat moves backward and he moves forwards.
hope it helps!!
cheers@!!!
thumbs up plzzz...

When a man jumps out of a boat to the bank of the river ( or lake ), the boat moves backward away from him.
- This is due to the fact that to step out of the boat, the man presses the boat with foot in the backward direction. The push of the man on the boat is the action ( force). The boat exerts an equal force on the man in the forward direction which enables him to move forward. This force exerted on the man is reaction ( force ).
Since the boat is floating on the water and not fixed, it moves backward due to the action force exerted by man.
Hope this helps !

When a sailor jumps out of a rowing boat , the force on the boat moves it backwards. For a more easy explanation you can see this example and relate it to your asked question..??

If the man steps out of the boat, ?then he exerts pressure on the boat which is the action as well as the boat then applies an equal force on the man and moves backward(reaction) to enable him to move forward.
