 animals are a renewable resource however if the human population increases at it's current rate (population doubles every 40-50 years) then we will eventually eat them all.

Yes I agree that if we use resources hastily then of course they can be renewed or replenished faster. For example groundwater is a renewable resource . However, today we are using it faster than it is renewed. This is the reason why the level of groundwater is going down.

It is because we are using it faster than it is renewed. Oxygen is a renewable resource and it is getting used up faster than it is renewed due to the increase in population and factories and cutting down of trees (deforestation).
