If RBC'S are placed in distilled water, the corpuscles will
1. Burst     2. Increase in number
3. shrink    4. Stick to each other
explain it

Hi
Acc. to me RBCs will burst due to endosmosis as the solution outside the cell is hypotonic (less amt of solute and more amt of water) w.r.t the solution inside the which is hypertonic or more concentrated hence endosmosis would take place .
Endosmosis is the process by which water moves from a hypotonic solution to a hypertonic solution through a partially permeable membrane .
here cell membrane acts as a partially permeable membrane.
