So , if it is 7 , p then -> mean = sum of observations/no. of observations so 8 =( 6 + 4 + 7 + p + 10 )/5 so 8 × 5 = 27 + p , 40 - 27 = p so p = 13. NOW if it is 7p then 8 = (6 + 4 + 7p + 10 )/4 then 8×4 = 20 + 7p so 32 = 20 + 7p so 12 = 7p therefore p = 12/7 .Regards
