if we dissolve sugar in a glass of water, will the level of water increase? if yes then why and no then also why

Dear student,
When sugar is added to water it dissolves and occupies the intermolecular spaces (empty space), thus the volume does not increase as sugar molecules are occupying vacant space and not adding to the existing space. Therefore the level of water will not increase.
