If we see red rose in blue light it appears black . Why?

A red rose appears red to the human eye in white light because it reflects the color red or, conversely, because it absorbs its complimentary color, blue. If you shine only blue light on the red rose (and no red light), it will absorb the blue wavelengths and reflect nothing - therefore it will appear black, which is the absence of light (or color).
