# In a survey 80 students were asked to vote for their favourite subject from English,Science and Maths.1/5 voted for english,1/4 voted for science and the rest voted for math.How many more votes did math receive than english?

Let the no. of students who voted for maths be x.

Therefore,

$\frac{1}{5}\times 80+\frac{1}{4}\times 80$ + x = 80

16 + 20 + x = 80

36 + x = 80

x = 44

Votes for English = $\frac{1}{5}\times 80$ = 16

Hence, maths received 28 (44 - 16) more votes than english.
