In page 34-35 of Civics 7, there is "A debate in the Legislative Assembly", on the basis of that I request the experts to answer the following: What were the main arguments put forward by different MLAs who thought that the government was not taking the situation in a serious manner? I am again asking this question. This is because I didn't get proper points in the answer to this at first. I request Charu Kalra ma'am to answer this as I have got good answers from her..

Dear Student,

The main arguments put forward by different MLA's  who actually targetted the government were:

a. MLA's highlighted the insensitivity and plight of the government in not dealing with the problem of diarrhoea and deaths caused by it.
b. They also highlighted the terrible conditions prevailing in government hospitals, lack of appropriate medical facilities, non availability  of doctors and wanted the government to take corrective steps.
c. Further MLA from the constituency of Tolpatti, focussed on the lack of safe drinking water and  the presence of contaminated water in ponds, wells.
d. They also took up the matter regarding distribution of ORS packets to counter the spread of disease, basic sanitation, of availability of medical staff  etc.
