In what way are the commercial motor different from the simple motor

Dear Student,
A simple motor works on the principle that when a rectangular coil is placed in a magnetic field and current is passed through it, a force acts on a coil which rotates it continuously while in commercial motors, the coil is bound on a soft iron core which becomes magnetized and increase the length of the magnetic field. The coil contains a large number of turns of insulated copper wire.
Also, Commercial electric motors don’t use a permanent magnet to rotate the armature. Instead, these use an electromagnet for rotating the armature.
I hope this clears your doubt regarding the two types of motors.
Regards
