Is commercial sources of energy similar to conventional sources of energy if not so why coal, petroleum, natural gas be called imp source of conventional energy beside the fact that these are examples of commercial sources of energy. please clear my doubt

Hey Anjali,

Commercial sources of energy are different from the conventional sources.

To be precise, commercial sources of energy are those that are not available for free. They have to be purchased and paid for. On the other hand, conventional sources of energy are those that are in use since ages.

Generally, the two sources are distinct from each other. But in this case coal, petroleum and natural gas can be regarded as both commercial and conventional sources of energy. They are regarded as commercial sources as they are not available for free (certain price is to be paid to use them), at the same time these are regarded as conventional sources as they are in use for over 200 years.

Hope, this clarifies your doubt.
