Is cutting of paper an irreversible or reversible change? Our teacher told us that cutting of paper is a reversible change as chemical property is not change only size is decreased so it sould not come under irreversible change

Reversible are changes that can be taken back to their original state. In case of irreversible change, the changed substance cannot be send back to its original state.

Here cutting of paper is an example of irreversible change. Once we cut a paper into smaller pieces, it is impossible to get back the whole original size of paper. If we fix the pieces with adhesive there will be a clear cut mark. Though the chemical changes of paper do not take place by cutting but physical change of size is occurring in this case.
