Adsorption and absorption are two different processes. Negative adsorption occurs when the concentration of the adsorbate is less on the surface of the adsorbent as compared to the concentration of adsorbate in the bulk of the solution. 

Absorption is the process when the solute is uniformly distributed in the bulk of the solvent.
