Is the monsoon responsible for rains the world over?

Monsoon is the season when rain occurs. It is not necessary that the rain can occur only during monsoon. But major proportion of rain in places where seasons are well demarcated occur during monsoon. In places where seasons are not distinct, rain occur during any duration of the year.
