It is easier to hammer a sharp nail into wood than a blunt one give reason
Dear Student,
We know that Pressure is inversely proportional to area.
So, smaller area will exert more pressure, thus a sharp nail has small area that comes in contact with the object, so more pressure can be applied on the object. Where as a blunt nail has more area than a sharp nail and the pressure exerted by the blunt nail will be less as compared to that of a sharp nail.
Therefore it becomes easy to penetrate sharp nail easily through wood than a blunt nail.
