1. In hill stations, there are lots of plants and trees in surrounding region which can easily purify if there is any polluted air. Moreover compared to metropolitan cities like Delhi, there is lesser emission of harmful gases by vehicles due to less traffic and vehicles on roads in hill stations like Shimla, Manali etc. So due to large green tress the Air in hill stations feels fresh, soothing and clean.
2. Oil spill is the release of the petroleum(hydrocarbons) in the water bodies. Yes, oil spills effect the aquatic animals .When oil releases into water, a layer of oil gets deposited and This layer does not allow air to pass through, due to which the aquatic animals do not receive the oxygen intake , resulting in death of the aquatic animals.
This contamination can be reduced by bioremediation (treatment with microorganisms) or by burning the oil.
