Length and breadth of a rectangular wire are 9 cm and 7 cm respectively. If the wire is bent into a square, find the length of its side.

Dear student, 

Length, l = 9 cm; breadth, b = 7 cm

Perimeter of rectangular wire =  2(l+b)

Perimeter = 2(9+7)

Perimeter = 32 cm

So, now this 32 cm will be the perimeter of square as well. 

We know that perimeter of square = 4 × side

32 =4 × side

Side = 8cm 

Hence, length of side of square is 8 cm.
