Dear Student,
Prior to 1917, the working class of Russia lived in abject poverty under the Tsars who encouraged capitalists. The wages were very low that the workers could not buy proper food or live in decent houses. The working hours were long and conditions of work unhygienic in most cases.
(i) The industrial workers in Russia got very low wages.
(ii) They had very long working hours, sometimes upto 15 hours.
(iii) A large number of workers were unemployed.
(iv) The workers demanded higher wages and reduction in working hours but their demands were not met and they became dissatisfied.
