MAM WHAT IS DIVISIBLITY RULE OF 11

Dear student,
Divisibility rule of 11 is -- If the difference between the sum of digits at odd places and the sum of digits at even places is equal to 0 or a multiple of 11.

ex - 1 2 3 4 3 7 5 6

Sum of odd term = 6+7+4+2 = 19

Sum of odd term = 5+3+3+1 = 12

Difference = 19 -12 =7

So number is not divided by 11

Take the alternating sum of the digits in the number, read from left to right. If that is divisible by 11, so is the original number.

So, for instance, 2728 has alternating sum of digits 2 ? 7 + 2 ? 8 = -11. Since -11 is divisible by 11, so is 2728

Divisibilty by 11:-
If the number of digits is even, add the first and subtract the last digit from the rest. The result must be?divisible?by?11. If the number of digits is odd, subtract the first and last digit from the rest. The result must be?divisible?by?11.

For example:-

There is a number 54219...
In this number check the numbers at odd positions means the numbers at 1st, 3rd , 5th position. They are 5, 2 and 9. Add these numbers, the sum will be 16.

Now check the numbers at even positions means the numbers at 2nd and 4th position and so on. They are 4 and 1. Add them up and you will get the sum as 5.

Now subtract both the sums
16 - 4 = 11
If the difference is divisible by 11 then the whole number is divisible by 11. In this case the difference is 11 which is divisible by 11. So, we can say that 54219 is divisible of 11
