Pericardium-
  • Location- The pericardium is the fluid filled sac that surrounds the heart and the proximal ends of the aorta, vena cava, and pulmonary artery.
  • Functions- The pericardium has several functions-
    • It keeps the heart contained in the chest cavity.
    • The pericardium also prevents the heart from over-expanding when blood volume increases.
Cristae-
  • Location- Cristae are the folded structure or inward projection present in the inner mitochondrial membrane.
  • Functions- They help to increase the surface area of the mitochondrial membrane and in the synthesis of ATP.
