Naveen fences his rectangular plot with a wire of length 940m. The length of the plot exceeds twice its breadth by 5m. Find the dimension of the plot.
Solution:
If Naveen fences the rectangular plot by 940 Mtr wire, then the perimeter of the plot = 940 Mtrs.
Let us assume that Breadth of the plot = X Mtrs, then the length will be (2X + 5)
We know that Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth)
2{(2X + 5) + X} = 940
2{3X + 5} = 940
6X + 10 = 940
6X = 940 - 10 = 930
X = 930/6 = 155 Mtrs.
Since breadth of the rectangular plot = 155 Mtrs, then the length will be (2X + 5) = (2 x 155 + 5) = 315 Mtrs.
Ans: 310 Mtrs 155 Mtrs.
