of mass of a system prove that centre of mass of a system. Prove that the center of mass of a system moves with constant velocity in the absence of external force on the system. discuss the motion of centre of mass in earth moon system revolving around the sun

Dear Student ,
here is the first part solution ,
Let us consider a body of mass ‘m’ moving with velocity ‘v’.

When there is no net external force acting on the body, the acceleration of the body is zero. So, the velocity of the body after any time remains same ‘v’.

We know, force = rate of change of momentum
F=d(p)dtF=d(mv)dtF=mdvdt
[mass ‘m’ of the body is constant]
Since, net external force F = 0]
so ,
dvdt=0
[Since m is not zero]
That means, the velocity is also constant.
