One number is greater by 2 than thrice another number and 6 times the smaller number exceeds the greater number by 1. Find the numbers.

Let greater no. be x and smaller no. be y

and 6y=x+1 or x-6y=-1
by solving using elimination method
 x-3y=2
 x-6y=-1
