Plants containing chlorophyll appear green yet leaves of some plants do not appear green. Why?

Plants containing chlorophyll reflect green light and absorb red and blue light, and hence, appear green in colour. While some plants do not appear green due to loss of pigmentation, absence of pigment chlorophyll or presence of pigments like xanthophyll and chromatophores, thereby, producing different colours.

See , there can be many reasons for this. First of all it may happen due to loss of pigments( often leaves appear yellowish). Secondly they may contain have some diseases. Thirdly presence of excess chromatophores and xanthophyll may be responsible for the phenomenon.

Chlorophyll is a green coloured pigment which helps in the process of photosynthesis. Plants which do not conatain chlorophyll do not show any green colour.

Sure, plants are green because their cells contain chloroplasts which have the pigment chlorophyll which absorbs deep-blue and red light, so that the rest of the sunlight spectrum is being reflected, causing the plant to look green.
