1) a. Give reason for the following:
(i) Isotopes of an element are chemically similar.
(ii) Noble gases show least reactivity.
b. If K and L shells of an atom are full, then what would be the total number of electrons in the atom ? what is the valency of this element ?
c. write the electronic configuration of an element with atomic number 13 and represent it in terms of Bohr's model of atom.
Dear student
1. Isotopes of an element are chemically similar because they have similar atomic number but different mass number. they have same no. of electron and the elements with similar configuration will have similar properties so they are chemically similar.
2. . The noble gases show least reactivity because Nobel gas have a filled valence shell of electrons. So it can not accept electron . And a noble gas has no need to lose electrons to gain a stable electron configuration.
