Please answer the given question 6
Q.6. Calculate the total effective resistance between points A and B
(i)

(ii)

(iii)

Dear student,
Resistors in series
RS = R1 +R2 + R3+....+Rn
Resistors in parallel
1/RP = 1/R1 + 1/R2 +......+1/Rn

1) 1/RP1 = (1/1 +1/1 + 1/1) =3
        RP1    =  1/3
   1/RP2   = 3
      RP2   =  1/3
Effective resistance = 1/3 + 1 + 1/3
                                = 1+ 2/3 = 5/3 Ω

2) 1/RP = 1/6 + 1/6 = 2/6 = 1/3 Ω
      Effective resistance  =  3 Ω

3) R = (1/2 + 1/2) + ( 1/2 + 1/2 ) + 2
         =  1 + 1 + 2 = 4 Ω

Please define formula

Just use the series and parallel combination formula
  • -1
Nothing much to do this in this type of questions just use the formula of series and parallel combination. First full identify the combination either it is parallel or series then use the respective formula to find the equivalent resistance
